The Algorithms of Storytelling: Design Patterns and Fiction with Cat Rambo and Guest Speaker

January 25, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am PST

Software design and storytelling have more in common than you might think. In both, you’re working to create a structure that accomplishes a specific experience for its user/reader. Other concepts overlap: design patterns can apply to both while editing and debugging have the same goal and many of the same considerations.

Wayne Rambo is a mobile designer who has shipped hundreds of mobile and web applications during his time with Amazon, RealNetworks, Zulily, as well as multiple start-ups. Together, he and Cat will deliver two hours of lecture and writing exercises that will help you come away with a better understanding of how stories — and software — work.

Join Cat Rambo and Wayne Rambo for an online workshop on the overlap between software design and storytelling. Limited enrollment (15); scholarships available.
