Maybe it was designed to, but the implementation isn't there, at least not in the version I have. Quick Mask, for instance, does not exist. There's a button to turn it on, but the button does nothing. This is true of a number of other features I consider essential. I try to follow tutorials only to discover that what they want me to do cannot be done. Frustrating and disappointing. My friend Fred used Gimp to make the covers of his three ebooks. I still think getting a pro to do covers is a good idea for those who can afford it, but Gimp appears pretty versatile. It's crucial. When I first started sending stuff out, back when most people didn't have e-mail, I taped the rejection slips to the wall above my desk. Twitter is a write-only channel for me. I never, ever read it. FB is also becoming very much a write-only site. There are a handful of groups and people I keep up with every couple of days, but I have cut down the time I read FB to minutes a day. It's also useful for helping organize events sometimes, but I really do find a big generational bell curve on FB. I tend to think that I live a very uninteresting life (well, not to me but mostly to other people), yet when I see a post from my niece that she's up at 3am with a tummy-ache, I'm not so sure my self-view is valid.
